Privacy policy

What we collect

When you sign in we receive your email address and display name from our identity provider (signin.ounie.com). When you run a synthesis we store the run record: the text you submitted, any pronunciation map you supplied, the voice, engine, language and format you chose, the audio file itself, the derived word timings, and the credit reservation and settlement.

We keep the text and the audio so that listing your runs, re-reading one and downloading its audio again are free forever. That is the only reason they are kept.

What we don't do

We don't track you across the web. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no session replay. We don't sell or share the text you submit or the audio it produces, we don't publish either anywhere, and we don't use them to train any model.

Your audio is private

Generated audio is stored as a private object. There is no public URL for it: every download is a signature minted for that one request, which expires on its own, so a link that leaks does not stay useful. A run is visible to you when you are signed in, and to API keys you have minted — nobody else. There is no share page and no public gallery.

What is sent to third parties

To synthesise speech, your text — after any pronunciation respelling — is sent to our speech engine provider, which receives the text and our request and nothing else: never your email, your account, or your Ounie identity. Nothing else about a run leaves our servers.

Treat text you submit as something that leaves our servers. Do not put secrets, credentials, or personal data about other people into a script.

Voices and likeness

The voices offered here are the engine's own catalogue. This product does not clone voices, does not accept voice samples, and has no way to make a specific person's voice — the catalogue verb is the entire set of voices available, and it is read-only.

Where data lives

Run records and credit ledger entries are stored in a Neon Postgres database hosted in the US. Audio objects are stored in Amazon S3 in us-east-1, privately.

Payments

Credit purchases happen on ounie.com, where Stripe processes payment. This product never sees your card number; it only reads and debits your Ounie credit wallet. x402 calls are settled in USDC on-chain and are pseudonymous — we record the paying wallet address and transaction hash, nothing more. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

An x402 run is stored without an owner, because a keyless caller has no account to attach it to.

Deletion

To delete your account or download your data, open a privacy ticket. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30.
